We were delighted to welcome SHEEC and TLG colleagues to a joint event on the 1 December 2022 in Edinburgh. This was the first in-person joint SHEEC/TLG session we had held since December 2019. Apart from enjoying lunch together, colleagues also reaped the benefits of some in-person networking.
We have published a short Bulletin that provides an overview of the highlights of the event:
- we heard from Heather Innes (Enhancement Theme Student Lead) and Hitanshi Badani (Enhancement Theme Deputy Student Lead) about Student-Led Project developments over the past two years and the exciting project work planned for 2022-23
- our SFC colleagues Debra MacFarlane and Karen Gray gave an update on Tertiary Quality Framework developments
- our Enhancement Theme evaluation consultants, Professor Stella Jones-Devitt and Dr Liz Austen provided an overview of the 20 Years of the Themes evaluation work and a demonstration of the Universal Evaluation Framework.
- we completed the event with a small group discussion session, starting to look at the future of enhancement activity in a tertiary sector.
With regard to the Themes evaluation work, while there is a large amount of evidence showing impact on practice from 20 Years of the Themes, in terms of the remaining evidence gaps, Stella and Liz are actively encouraging staff and students across the sector to contact them for examples of Themes impact on student experience and outcomes. In addition, Stella and Liz are also seeking volunteers to pilot the Universal Evaluation Framework. If you can support either or both activities, please do make contact by dropping us an email to ARCadmin or directly to Liz or Stella.
Please do make colleagues aware of this ‘call to action’ by circulating this news article and associated Bulletin.
