Registration for QAA Scotland’s 5th International Enhancement Conference opens next week!
Building Resilient Learning Communities: Using Evidence to Support Student Success will run online from 3-5 November 2020. Sharing innovative learning, tools and practice from the Enhancement Themes and across the globe, the conference will critically engage with emerging themes in higher education, including:
- Evidence-based decision-making (Day One)
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in our learning communities (Day Two)
- Employability for a changed world (Day Three)
We are delighted to announce two of our confirmed keynote speakers:
Dr Ben Williamson (University of Edinburgh) will deliver the opening keynote on Day One. With 10 years’ experience researching new developments in digital technology and data in education, Dr Williamson currently works as a Chancellor's Fellow at the Centre for Research in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh. Originally scheduled to present at our in-person conference in June, Dr Williamson’s new keynote presentation will explore digital data and decision-making in the post-pandemic university. This will be followed by a panel discussion with sector colleagues.
Professor Dawn Bennett (Curtin University) will deliver the opening keynote on Day Three. Professor Bennett is John Curtin Distinguished Professor of Higher Education and Director of Developing Employability and Creative Workforce Initiatives at Curtin University, Australia. With research expertise in the development of employability initiatives in higher education, learning and teaching, and both precarious (non-standard or temporary employment) and graduate work, Professor Bennett’s recorded keynote presentation will problematise the notion of employability, reframing it as the ability to create and sustain meaningful work across the career lifespan and in multiple contexts. Professor Bennett will then join us live for an in-conversation session.
