Lorna Milne is Vice-Principal of the University of St Andrews. After completing an MA (Honours) in French at the University of St Andrews, she joined HM Diplomatic Service, working in London and East Berlin before returning to academia and a PhD at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research and teaching focus on modern and contemporary French literature, with a particular interest in the French Antilles. She holds the rank of Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques for her work in French Studies. Since Prof Milne came to St Andrews as a Lecturer in 1996 she has held various administrative roles including Dean of Arts (2006 – 2009).
