What happens in your institution when a student has an area of personal interest related to their chosen course of study? In the School of Education at the University of Strathclyde, students are encouraged to turn this interest into personal and/ or professional development activity. In turn, they are then challenged to create meaningful learning experience for their peers.

In this presentation, Roy Harris, a third year undergraduate student, will talk about his experience of this model of personal development. This experience has allowed him to gain new experiences, to develop new skills, to lead learning for his peers, to create personal and professional learning networks across the country and to develop a website in which this learning can be shared and discussed.
