This publication, ‘Maintaining research-mindedness in Scotland's universities in a time of sector-wide change’ is part of the Graduates for the 21st Century Enhancement Theme.

The publication looks at the core messages from the original work undertaken as part of the Research-Teaching Linkages Enhancement Theme and acknowledges their relevance. However it notes some limitations and accordingly introduces and discusses three additional strands to the Research-Teaching Linkages Enhancement Theme: 1) flexible provision, coherence and progression; 2) opportunities for building research-mindedness through civic engagement; and 3) the changing nature of the research environment – in particular the need for interdisciplinary responses to some issues and the impact of new technologies.
