On 1 April 2015, the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 came into effect. Under this legislation (and in particular under Part 9), Scottish higher education institutions are defined as Corporate Parents, with explicit responsibilities for young people who are, or have been, looked after. In the spirit of the current Enhancement Theme, Student Transitions, QAA Scotland examined how best to support Scottish institutions in meeting these responsibilities in order to enhance the student experience for people with experience of care.
